February 2017

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I invite you to the 11th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis & Vascular Diseases (APSAVD) on February 27- March 1, 2018 in the Philippines! Our scientific program promises to be interesting, relevant and informative, and will focus on the theme:

“Addressing Regional Diversity in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Disease in the Asia-Pacific Region”

We have a line-up of eminent academics, clinicians and researchers from within and outside the Asia-Pacific region who will present important data and share experiences on dealing with dyslipidemias and arteriosclerosis in their respective countries and in the Asia-Pacific region. A special session on Familial Hypercholesterolemia in the region is also being set up. Interactions between countries in the region on above topics augur well for future collaborations that the APSAVD can spearhead.

Aside from the scientific sessions, there are at least 3 more reasons why you should attend the congress in the Philippines: first is the renowned hospitality of the Filipinos who just love to welcome and show foreign guests around; second is the novelty of seeing that part of the Philippines that visitors have yet to experience: The congress will be held southwest of Manila,  in Iloilo City, voted the most livable city in the Philippines for 2 straight years; and third, the Filipino culture and the places to enjoy after the congress are there for the taking, and quite inexpensive, too!

The congress host will be the Philippine Lipid & Arteriosclerosis Society, with major co-sponsors: the Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH), the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (PSEDM) and the Philippine Society of Vascular Medicine (PSVM)

Eugenio Jose F. Ramos, M.D., FPCP, FPCC
